After you have decided what kind of hotel you want and where you want to stay it is time to begin shopping around for prices. Be sure not to take the first offer made to you. If you’re not sure exactly how much you’re saving off the rack rate, call the hotel directly and find out what their rate is. You can then compare the offers you have received to the rack rate and know for sure how much you’re saving.

Finally, always be sure to ask about the cancellation policy just in case you need to use it. Be sure to write down your reservation number so you can cancel if need be or to simply confirm your reservation later. It’s a good idea to have this information emailed to you whenever possible.
